Passion projects continue to be a worthwhile investment that allow me to explore new subject matter and imagine the impossible. The result is always new learning through discovery of new tools and techniques and enriching my artist network. Here you'll find work such as drawing and animation challenges, collaborations, and other fun experiments. Spooky Vintage Comics!
A few submissions from the Retro Supply Co Fright-Fall Halloween 2025 drawing event. For these pieces I used a variety of reference from my husband's face and my own hand to a 3D anatomy app and real autopsy photos I will never un-see. Aside from this fun distraction, I learned some great techniques on vintage comic book style ink feathering, halftone color combinations, and blending layers of color and form. Really love working with this style and have a renewed appreciation for the vintage comic masters!
UPDATE: I've recently embarked on converting these designs to hand-painted stained glass pieces, which you can check out here.
