"What is Tuberculosis?"
Partnering with Educators to Help Inform Communities
Revised version with captioning, color & timing changes
Illustration, Animation, Storyboarding, Project Management
Animation explaining tuberculosis (TB) infection and associated risk factors
Client
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
About the Project
This animation was created to augment community education materials in support of clinical trials in regions of southern Africa. It shows how TB infection enters and infects the body and the risk factors associated with the disease. The animation was translated in 6 languages and was completed from script to final product ahead of deadline in under 2 months. I was responsible for managing and creating the animation from start to finish while collaborating with community educators and subject matter experts at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
This recent version is a "glow up" of the original idea, where I punched up the colors and contrast, tightened up the timing, and added captions & sound to the final 1:25min piece, trimmed down from the previous 2 minutes.
Placement & Deliverables
Various network study clinics in the southern Africa region for community education & outreach efforts
2 minute animation
6 animations total, produced in English, Xhosa, Setswana, Afrikaans, Sotho and Zulu
